Jedi Master Cedral Gend first appeared in 2013 for Republic Players starting the Seeker Droid Storyline, which was Rise of the Hutt Cartel’s continuation of the Dread Master storyline told through operations.

Republic Players on Coruscant would meet several times with the Jedi High Councilmember who was seen as an expert and hunter of Dark Side artifacts and Force nexuses for the Jedi Order.
Master Gend tasks the Republic Players with aiding him in hunting down and controlling the Seeds of Rage, powerful Sith artifacts spread across the galaxy by the Dread Masters.
This would be Master Gend’s first and only appearance in the entire Old Republic game series.

In Game Update 7.4: Chains in the Dark, Cedral Gend reappears after ten years on the Port Nowhere station for Jedi Players during the introduction to the Kessan’s Landing Story quest.
Any Republic Players that have completed the Seeds of Rage/Seeker Droid storyline prior to starting Kessan’s Landing will be given a unique, one-time cutscene to reconnect with Master Gend instead of the standard “introduce yourself” dialogue options.

Kessan’s Landing being over ten years since Cedral Gend originally appeared during Rise of the Hutt Cartel and is now one of the only confirmed living Jedi Councilmembers in the game next to Satele Shan and potentially the Jedi Consular player character.

Trooper and Smuggler players will meet Tema Folaris instead of Cedral Gend. Another Quest NPC that has not appeared since 2011!
Sith Players will meet Overseer Markan, Bounty Hunters and Agents meet Thera Markon.
