Star Wars Celebration Leaks SWTOR: Darkness Over Dathomir

Some Devs has teased a minor presence at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo this year, including a quick teaser to show off SWTOR in 2025!

Unfortunately todays PTS Update that was meant to add the XR-53 Boss in Nightmare difficulty instead added a whole new Daily Area before the servers were quickly taken offline. Dataminers that were quickly able to download the patch before the server was shut down have found a new Storyline called ‘Darkness Over Dathomir’ which is a completely voice acting free cutscene planet, being told entirely through sequences of Dynamic Encounters and Comlink cutscenes that you must discover that are hidden across the Planet!

It is very likely that this is the trailer that SWTOR hinted at being shown off at Star Wars Celebration this year in Tokyo!

If you want to install and play Darkness Over Dathomir for yourself, check out this guide on how to install and play the SWTOR PTS:

To access Dathomir, you need to be logged into the PTS on a level 80 character, from there you can go to the Galaxy Map and click on Dathomir which is located next to Taris.

Codex Blurb:
A dark world of uncontrollable weather, swollen by the Dark Side of the Force. Dathomir is home to the ancient Rancors that were once prized by Sith Alchemists. Primal beasts roam the surface of it’s forsaken jungles and treacherous mountain ravines. While there are no known colonies or sentients that call this planet home, there are rumors of nomadic Zabrak tribes that attack anyone that dare step foot within their hunting grounds.

There currently isnt much on the planet, when you arrive there is a Computer that gives you a choice between a Republic or Imperial cutscene of various trooper NPCs running into the jungle before being attacked by some Zabraks in red robes using hunting rifles.

Unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be any Voiced Cutscenes during the Story, each of the planets Cutscenes are told through finding Commlink Datapads on the ground from dead explorers across the planet.
The mysterious [Unknown] character from the Trial by Fire dynamic encounter quest also reappears several times over the Commlink, although it is best that it is saved for the Story Spoilers section at the bottom of this page if you do not want to be spoiled on the identity of the character.

The Daily Area doesnt have much to it, however there are several large Dathomir Rancor Worldbosses walking around the daily area that seem hostile to all players. There are also about 6 or so empty campsites across the map with green fire pits and dead bodies everywhere. The planet feels quite lifeless just like the Ziost daily area.

The planet is covered in a dark red and gray fog very similar to the new graphics the developers put on Hutta last year, perhaps it was a test for this planet.

Dathomir does not have standard dailies, instead there are about 2-3 Dynamic Encounters that are constantly appearing all over the planet at ‘Nightmother Coven Grounds’ which look like campsites and huts with Green fire.

Several Nightmothers will spawn around a Green firepit and will be constantly attacked by waves of Tribal Zabrak enemies, you must defend the Nightmothers and stop the Zabraks from killing them all.
Once you complete the Dynamic Encounter you will be rewarded a bunch of Nightmother Force Tokens as well as a random piece of ‘Dathomir Coven’ gear.

There are several vendors that sell 350 item rating gear in exchange for OP-1 Catalysts and a new currency called Nightmother Force Tokens. I assume they are a reward for the Dailies in the area.

On the PTS you can buy them on the Fleet for 1 Credit each from the 350 Dathomir Gear Vendor in the Supplies Section.

A new Ring Slot has been added to the game and is available to max level players on Dathomir. Each Ring appears to be built around the Legacy of the Sith Story and adds new Stats and Skills to your abilities list.

There are two new items and a new May the 4th Reward that has been added to SWTOR!

The Purple Hoverpod and Naboo Speeder mounts will be given away for free to all players that log in around the time that Star Wars Celebration is happening in Tokyo, you don’t even have to be there, just log into the game!

It also appears that players that log in for the release of Darkness Over Dathomir on May the 4th will recieve the B25-SAL Probe Droid Pet for FREE! There is also an Amethyst Vulptilla Pup found on the PTS however it is unknown how it will be acquired.

Finally the last reward is a new Companion/Pet Mount called the Storm 1 which will be available for direct purchase through swtor or steam.

Story Spoilers

The entire story of the Dathomir daily area is told through the Commlink Conversations, no voice acting is present aside from what NPCs and Creatures yell in the open world.

After arriving on Dathomir, you basically go around to all of the campsite locations collecting Commlink data from each site where there are explorers that have died. It does not matter which order of campsites you visit as the conversation with the [Unknown] will only trigger once you have gone to all of the campsites.

The Unknown refers to a place called KOROS, which I wrongfully assumed had something to do with Koros of the Empress Teta system from the old Expanded Universe.
KOROS is actually the name of a droid NPC near the respawn point on Dathomir, if you talk to the droid he will offer to take you to a secluded location to meet the [Unknown]!

BEWARE SPOILERS AHEAD

Once you have taken the Taxi from KOROS , you end up in a completely different part of Dathomir near a large Sith Temple, and there he is!

Advertisements

Right at the front gate of the Sith Temple is a SWTOR character that players have wanted to bring back since Iokath. Darth Jadus stands at the entrance to the Sith Temple and you are treated to a silent cutscene where he reveals himself before attacking your character!

He was kind of easy to defeat with a Companion in Heal spec and sadly he didnt drop any loot.
Once I defeated him, a cutscene plays where your character hits him several times, only for him to turn and face the Sith Temple before using the force to teleport away, just like he did in the Agent story during the Vanilla game.

Darth Jadus escapes, leaving a final Commlink Cutscene for you to loot from the courtyard of the ancient Sith Temple of Dathomir.

Nah just kidding, the developers haven’t even released the main 7.6 Legacy of the Sith story with Heta Kol and Darth Malgus. As much as I would love to explore Dathomir or have Darth Jadus return, the Dathomir Nightsisters and Dathomiri Zabraks literally dont even exist in the Star Wars universe for another 3000 years and it would be impossible for SWTOR to bring Darth Jadus back or any new characters due to the currently ongoing SAG AFTRA voice actors strike.

Congrats on making it this far, the entire page is a complete fabrication and utterly false, not a single thing on it is true whatsoever, this is an April Fools joke created by TodayinTOR and the Kal’s Pals discord!
All ‘gameplay pictures’ were screenshots taken from already available ingame characters, armor sets and locations that have been edited in Photoshop.

Last Year’s April Fools announcement featured the Rise of Malgus as a fake expansion with alien date nights and a dual-faction Assassin Droid Class:

In 2023 myself and RemusGT made a fake AI Generated expansion called the Ring Forge of Morrod (stolen from Lord of the Rings), where we made fake and super cringe-worthy AI generated swtor planets and battles:
