FR3-D0M is a Worldboss found in Kessan’s Landing in Star Wars the Old Republic. All players at level 80 can fight FR3-D0M, including players in Small Groups using Companions.

Introduction

FR3-DOM is a new Droid type Worldboss added to Kessan’s Landing in Game Update 7.4 Chains in the Dark. FR3-D0M is unique in the fact that players can use Companions to attack and kill the it.
FR3-D0M has 12.2 Million Hitpoints so while you can kill him in a Small Group, a Large Group will make killing the Worldboss faster and easier.

Difficulty Wise FR3-DOM is more difficult and hits harder then the Kithrawl on Ruhnuk but has far less hitpoints.

Worldboss Location

FR3-DOM is located in the North-East corner of Kessan’s Landing, a level 80 Location on Ord Mantell. There is a respawn point for both Republic and Imperial players only a few dozen meters away, so if you die it only takes a few seconds to get back to the fight.

There are some enemies along the path to FR3-D0M, so be careful if you respawn as you could bring enemies with you into FR3-DOM’s Arena.

Mechanics

FR3-D0M has 4 Main Mechanics during his fight, which he does on a loop based on how long you have been fighting him, so killing him faster will mean you end up seeing less mechanics.

FR3-DOM’s first mechanic is the Flamethrower. He creates a large Red Triangle on the ground pointed at the Tank (or whoever he is Targeting). When the Red Triangle appears you only have a few seconds to run out of the Damage Area as his Flamethrower deals high damage.
As a DPS or Healer player, consider standing either behind FR3-D0M or far away to avoid the Flamethrower.

Periodically during the fight FR3-DOM will randomly select group members and shoot several Missiles directly where they stand. Players getting targeted by Missiles should keep running in straight lines or zigzag away from other Groupmembers.

Getting hit by a single Missile does not deal much damage, but 2 or More direct hits in a row can kill a Player or a Companion instantly.

FR3-DOM will occasionally chase a player after shooting Missiles and put down a Large red square on the Ground. All players caught in the red square will take huge amounts of damage immediately when FR3-D0M starts shooting Fire.

The easiest way to avoid this mechanic as a Tank is to run to the side the second you see the Large Red Square. As a DPS or Healer player, consider standing either behind FR3-D0M or far away to avoid the Flamethrower.

The final Mechanic is a passive one, during the entire Boss Encounter with FR3-DOM he will randomly target any player in Combat with him and place down a “Plasma Ring” on them. This looks like a large light blue Ring.
If you are in one one of these ‘Plasma Rings’, you will take damage over time in addition to any damage that FR3-D0M also gives you. So make sure to stay outside of the Blue Rings in FR3-DOMs Boss Arena.

Loot and Achievements

There is a small chance that a random Group Member will recieve a Mantellian Hover-Tank Mount as Loot when killing FR3-DOM. This Mount is Bound when looted and cannot be traded to other Group Members.

There are also Two Achievements related to killing FR3-DOM:
Droid Demolition: Completed the Weekly Mission “The Price of Freedom” on Kessan’s Landing 1 time.
I Sense You’re Going Down: Completed the Weekly Mission “The Price of Freedom” on Kessan’s Landing 3 times.
Hey Separatists, Separate This!: Completed the Weekly Mission “The Price of Freedom” on Kessan’s Landing 5 times.
FR3-D0M Isn’t Free: Kill FR3-D0M 105 Times.
