SWTOR dataminers have leaked a Major update to Star Wars the Old Republic: 7.6 The Rise of Malgus!
The Rise of Malgus is SWTOR’s first Mega-Server and Date Night Expansion, with leaks supporting a new Story Class, Planet, Companion Customisation Overhaul and Cross-Server Expansion!

Story Leaks
Not much is known about the Update yet, as many content creators are waiting for the PTS to come online before creating guides and other content.
All that we know currently is that this dataminers have told us that the update will conclude the Malgus’ story with Darth Nul, Sahar Kateen and a new character, Tarre Vizla.

Khem Val and Scorpio Date Nights
SWTOR dataminers have found files to indicate that there will be TWO new Date Nights available for the release of 7.6, Khem Val and Scorpio. While not much is known about their contents, achievements or how to unlock them. It seems to have been started when Twitter users started a viral campaign to get a Khem Val romance added after the recent 7.4.1 Livestream debuted Date Nights in Star Wars the Old Republic.
It appears that demand for the Khem Val date night has been acknowledged by Broadsword already!
MegaServer Merges and Subscriber Reward
Sneaky dataminers have found the M4-UL Probe Droid MiniPet in Collections on the upcoming PTS that indicates Server Merges will be happening for 7.6!
It appears as if Satele Shan and Star Forge will merge together into the Darksaber Mega-Server, located in Austin, Texas. European servers Darth Malgus, The Leviathan and Tulak Horde will merge together into the new Darth Revan Mega-Server located in Brussels, Belgium.
The collections description for the M4-UL Probe Droid shown below is as follows:
Rewarded to active characters on all servers that were merged together into the new Darksaber or Darth Revan Mega-Server during Game Update 7.6: The Rise of Malgus.
Only active Subscribers on Shae Vizla will be granted the M4-UL Probe Droid during Game Update 7.6: The Rise of Malgus.
Tarre Vizsla Companion and Darksaber Leaks
Only a fallen Jedi by the name of Tarre Vizsla can end the Mandalorian War, but you must help him craft a new saber using a mysterious Black Kyber Crystal before he falls completely into the Dark side as the apprentice of Darth Malgus!
To start The Rise of Malgus, it will require completion of all prior 7.0 Story Content including Kessans Landing and Hutta as there will be no skip/boost option available.
Concept art from swtor also indicate that Tarre Vizsla, the legendary Mandalorian Jedi will be a Story companion during the final Quest on Morrod.
I reached out to some swtor dataminers and they told me that supposedly he first appears as a Boss fight as a defender of Heta Kol. Once you defeat him, he rejoins the Jedi Order and you must help him craft the Darksaber in the Ring Forge of Morrod.
New Assassin Droid Class
Your allegiance is to the highest bidder with the NEW Assassin Droid Combat Style!
We finally got a new Combat Style in Update 7.6 with the Assassin Droid combat style which appears to cost 1,200 Cartel Coins!
The Assassin Droid is SWTOR’s first Neutral-Faction class, meaning that you will be able to group up with players on Both factions and visit story areas and locations such as Korriban and Coruscant!
Players will be able to change factions once per day from a special computer on their Character’s ship, however Assassin Droid players will not be able to join Guilds.
Not much is known about the Assassin Droid Combat Style as the Class is locked on the PTS. However datamining indicates that the class will be SWTOR’s first Melee using Tech Combat Style, available for the Trooper, Smuggler, Bounty Hunter and Agent origin Stories.
Absorbing enough damage charges the Assassin droids ‘Shield Matrix’ buff. Once enough damage has been tanked, you will be able to unleash the damage you have absorbed as a single heavy and unavoidable hit directed at any emeny, but the Combat Style gets even better:
Should you charge the Shield Matrix buff to 100% without dying you will be able to Summon SWTOR’s FIRST Combat Mount, the new R3-MU5 Attack Walker to use in PvE locations such as Daily Areas, Flashpoints and Uprisings!
Outside of the Assassin Droid, R3-MU5 Combat Mounts will only be available in the new PvP ‘Battlefront’ Cross Server planet.
Companion Customization Remaster
Style companions as never before with SWTOR’s new companion customization feature in Game Update 7.6! Give your favorite Companion a fresh new look, all Companions now get full access to the Character Customization Menu that we use to create our Characters!
All existing Companion Customisations both Cartel Market and Collections will unlock a variety of customisation options and outfits immediately so that you do not have to re-purchase any of the accessories of your favourite Companion Customisation. Mix and Match hairstyles, skintones, tattoos and more!
New Planet Morrod
The new planet that Malgus, Shae Vizla and Heta fight to control is named Morrod, dataminers believe it to be located at the exact center of the Galaxy.
Similarly to how Ossus was the only place to earn 250 gear or better at the end of KOTET, Morrod will be the only place that item Rating 360 Gear can be obtained, instead of Looted or traded in on Fleet from Rakata Gear or any other gear content archetype.
Morrod Gear will be this expansions first Gold/Yellow quality gear, Better then any R-4, Rakata and Thyrsian purple Gear.
Once you complete the major Expansion storyline there will probably be a Daily Area and Reputation on the planet. I have also been told by Dataminers that there are 6 datacrons and TWO worldbosses that will be related to Reputation and weeklies.
Crafting Overhaul
The crafting skill has been increased to 750 with Tier 12 Crafting available to Subscribers on Morrod.
Unlike prior planets that involve gathering materials and using companions to craft, Morrod requires playing minigames similar to the Feast of Prosperity food serving or Voss Retreat kitchen Minigame at the Morrod Ring Forge itself, in order to earn powerful new 360 item rating gear.
Players must work together as a group to team up different crafting styles and create items based on their own Crew Skills, making the Dual-Faction Assassin Droid combat style perfect for coordinating both factions at the Ring Forge!
A leaked image from PAX 2024 shows the new ‘Ring Slot’ that players can equip powerful new Set-Gears, as well as a new tier of Gold Augment and item Rating.
We dont know what the requirements will be however the Ring Forge appears to only be enterable after completing the new Story so I assume that only level 80 characters will be able to gain access.
Cross-Server Queues and Battlefront
Flashpoints, Operations and Warzones/Arenas appear to still be tied to your server, however datamining suggests a brand new 3 WAY PvP planet with territory control, fought over by all servers.
Get ready to experience Open World PvP and SWTOR’s first Cross Server PvP Planet, specially designed for epic 16 vs 16 cross-server battles. Command Republic and Imperial squadrons and show no mercy to your enemies on this massive planetary “Battlefront”. Available FREE for all characters level 15+ !
Regardless of Faction, Republic and Imperial players on the Battlefront will team together to represent their server and take territory away from the others.
Unfortunately it appears that Shae Vizla players will be automatically allies with whichever MegaServer is currently losing the war, this means that if Darksaber (Satele and Star Forge) are losing to Darth Revan (Leviathan, Tulak, Malgus), then Shae Vizla players will only be able to team up with Darksaber players.
PTS Video
RemusGT , a German SWTOR content creator was able to access the Expansion Page on swtor.com early by datamining the website, he has compiled a video of the soon to be released expansion info.
This entire page is a complete fabrication and utterly false, not a single thing on it is true whatsoever, this is an April Fools joke created by RemusGT, TodayinTOR, Skyehammer and Ko-Fi contributors in Kal’s Pals discord!.
