SWTOR DvL Boss Guide

swtor dvl boss

Dark vs Light bosses are powerful Worldbosses that are special to Galactic Season 7 and 8 in SWTOR.

These bosses are very powerful so a group may be required to successfully kill them.

The Dark vs Light worldbosses originated in the 2016 Galactic Command game mode for SWTOR that ran for the duration of the Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion. They were removed prior to Legacy of the Sith and readded in game Update 7.5.1 with the inclusion of Galactic Season 7 and repeated again in 7.6.1 with Galactic Season 8.

DvL Worldbosses and DvL tokens have returned to SWTOR in Galactic Season 8!
There are 20 total DvL Worldbosses, 10 Lightside themed bosses and 10 Darkside themed worldbosses. Players of any faction can kill both types of boss.
They can be quite challenging so it is best to attack the DvL Worldbosses in large groups of 16 or more players with plenty of healers.

Each week only 2 DvL worldbosses will spawn on different planets. This means it will take 10 weeks to find and kill all 20 DvL Bosses during the Galactic Season.
Killing a Lightside DvL Boss rewards players with Darkside Tokens as Loot, killing a Darkside DvL Boss rewards players with Lightside Tokens as Loot.

Gorso the Nightmare King has two mechanics that need to be avoided, he alternates using both of them although they can happen at the same time.

Every minute or so Gorso the Nightmare King will apply a poison DOT to your character, you either need to cleanse it yourself, have a healer cleanse you or use a medpac to survive it.

All players both melee and ranged need to be careful for the Pink Lightning AOE circles. Every 30 seconds light white circles will spawn under random players, you will only have 5 seconds to move before bright purple lightning activates in the circle, making part of the floor around the boss deal damage if you stand on it.
This can be hard to see on Hoth due to blending into the snow.
