Galactic Season 8 Rising Powers is a time limited Season full of Free to Play and subscriber rewards in SWTOR. Each week players are able to play a variety of game modes and objectives in order to earn ‘season points’ which unlock rewards on a linear path.

Galactic Season 8 starts on the 11th of March 2025 and ends on the 29th of July 2025.

To start playing a Galactic Season in SWTOR, you need to open the Log-In Rewards window which you can find on the SWTOR icons bar at the Top-Left of your screen. The Log-In Rewards button is represented by a check mark in a circle.

swtor galactic season guide

Once you open this window, make sure to click on the Galactic Seasons Button in the pop up Window that appears.

From this window you can find buttons for the Objectives, Rewards, Weekly Progress and Achievements.

Completing Objectives each week will reward you with points. Each level requires 8 points to unlock it’s associated rewards. There are 100 Reward levels to unlock which means you need to earn 800 points before the Season ends to unlock all of the possible rewards from the Galactic Season Pass.
There are two separate Reward tracks, one for Free to Play players and one for Subscribers only.

There are also bonus Rewards that can be unlocked by completing special Achievements when a Galactic Season is running.

Every week, 11 Weekly Objectives are generated by SWTOR for all players to complete. You can only complete a maximum of 7 each week. Some Weekly Objectives may require a Subscription or a certain story progression to access such as Operations (raids) or KOTFE/KOTET chapters.
There is also a Daily Objective to earn 25,000 Conquest points each day. This objective rewards 2 points a day.

Easy to complete and most F2P friendly Weekly Objectives reward 8 Season Points (1 pass level) and +5 Galactic Season currency.
Most Subscriber only-content or difficult/multiplayer focused Weekly Objectives reward 12 Season Points and +8 Galactic Season Currency.
Objectives you have completed turn Green. You can only complete a maximum of 7 Objectives a week. Attempting to complete more will not give you any progress.

Logging in 4 Days a week will reward F2P and Preferred players with 4 bonus Galactic Season Points every week that a Galactic Season is active. Subscribers earn an extra 4 points each week.
This means a F2P/Pref player earns half a level for free by logging in 4 days a week, while a subscriber earns 1 level for free by logging in 4 days a week.

Galactic Season 8: Research and Destruction Story Quest

The Story Quest is a starting Free Reward for participating in Galactic Season 8: Rising Powers. The Story Quest is unlocked at level 1 of the Free to Play rewards track.

The Story for Galactic Season 8: Research and Destruction involves connecting Czerka Corporation with the story NPC Kai Zykken who is an in universe ‘meme’ that appears infrequently across the Shadow of Revan expansion and the Onslaught expansion.

The Story Quest takes place with your character locating Kai Zykken who is on the run, where you must meet and discuss his involvement with Czerka Corporation.

Once you have talked to Kai Zykken, he will introduce you to the concept of the [Uprising] game mode in SWTOR which is now available to Free to Play players through Groupfinder starting at level 10!

Advertisements

Uprisings are small 4-player, ‘arcade’ style Flashpoints (dungeons) in SWTOR that can be played by anyone level 10 or above. Unlike Flashpoints, Uprisings ONLY contain enemies and boss encounters, as they have no story cutscenes or dialogue.
Most Uprisings take between 10-15 minutes to complete and can be difficult to play Solo. Duo or Group play is recommended for Story and Veteran difficulty while Master Mode Difficulty requires a Group of 4 level 80 players.

Uprisings are available to all players above level 10+ in THREE difficulties on the Fleet as well as through Groupfinder.
Story – Available to all players level 10+ on the Fleet or through Groupfinder.
Despite being named [Story] difficulty, Story Uprisings are not soloable but can easily be done Duo with companions or in Groupfinder.

Veteran – Available to all players level 70+. The only major difference between [Story] and [Veteran] Uprisings is the amount of Health and Damage that each boss has, otherwise Story and Veteran difficulty Uprisings are honestly nearly identical in length and difficulty.

Master – Should only be attempted by highly geared Level 80 players and requires a full group (1 Tank, 2 Healers, 1 DPS). All enemies in [Master] difficulty Uprisings are far more dangerous then their Veteran difficulty counterparts.

Here are tailor made guides for each Uprising featured in Galactic Season 8:

During Galactic Season 8 – Rising Powers, players have the ability to use the Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancer buff when playing Uprisings in order to gain one of three random special Buffs!
Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancer’s can be unlocked through the Galactic Season 8 rewards track and extra Combat Enhancers can be purchased from the Galactic Season rewards Vendor on Fleet for credits.

The Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancer provides one of three Buffs to the player when you use one inside an Uprising:
Destruction Overload: Every 5th enemy you defeat explodes which damages nearby enemies but also yourself!
Czerka Combaat Drones: Small combat drones will randomly appear to help you defeat enemies.
Unstable Radiation Field: Enemies you defeat will drop electric circles on the floor that deal AOE damage to enemies but also yourself.

While you have the Buff active, there is also a small chance that regular trash mob enemies in the Uprising itself will turn red and ‘enrage’ with the Czerka Buff itself, tagging or killing these buffed enemies will count progress towards the special ‘Tying Up Loose Ends’ achievement.
For a detailed guide, look in the Achievements section below.

swtor dvl boss

DvL Worldbosses and DvL tokens have returned to SWTOR in Galactic Season 8!
There are 20 total DvL Worldbosses, 10 Lightside themed bosses and 10 Darkside themed worldbosses. Players of any faction can kill both types of boss.
They can be quite challenging so it is best to attack the DvL Worldbosses in large groups of 16 or more players with plenty of healers.

Each week only 2 DvL worldbosses will spawn on different planets. This means it will take 10 weeks to find and kill all 20 DvL Bosses during the Galactic Season.
During the Final Week of Galactic Season 8, all 20 Bosses will be spawned at the same time to end the Season.

You can see a complete guide to all DvL Worldbosses here:

Each Galactic Season has their own special Achievements. While each Galactic Season’s achievements are Optional to complete, they often come with some bonus rewards that cannot be earned after the Galactic Season ends or in any future Seasons.

galactic season achievements

Galactic Season 8 has the following Achievements and Rewards:

Testing for Power I – Earn reward level 10 during the Galactic Season.
Testing for Power II – Earn reward level 25 during the Galactic Season.
Testing for Power III – Earn reward level 50 during the Galactic Season.
Testing for Power IV – Earn reward level 75 during the Galactic Season.
Testing for Power V – Earn reward level 100 during the Galactic Season.

Powerful Forces – Kill all 10 Dark and 10 Light World Bosses before Galactic Season 8 ends.

Tying Up Loose Ends – Damage or land a Killing Blow on 250 enraged ‘red glowing’ enemies affected by the Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancer buff inside Uprisings while you are using the Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancer before Galactic Season 8 ends.
The best Uprising to farm this achievement is Trench Runner as it appears to give up to 15-20 Buffed enemies per run, while most other Uprisings give between 6-12.
Strategy: Choose the Trench Runner Uprising in Story difficulty. Once you have activated the Czerka buff inside the Uprising, kill each group of trash mobs slowly as it takes about 5 seconds for a random enemy in the group to activate the Czerka Buff.
Once they begin to ‘glow red’ and the Czerka Buff appears on their hotbar, killing them or tagging them before they die will progress the achievement.

Season 8 Objective Master – Reward: Legacy Title ‘Built Different’, Complete 100 total Weekly Objectives during the Galactic Season.
Combat Enhanced: Reward: Appeance Option: Regal Senator’s Hairstyle, Complete all the Season 8 Achievements.

  1. I think you made a mistake “Tying Up Loose Ends” is not killing so much enemies while having used that buff. The enemies must have this buff so does it counts, killed a lot of enemies and only have 9/250
