Korriban Dynamic Encounters

Dynamic Encounters are repeatable, time-limited quests in Star Wars the Old Republic. Many Dynamic Encounters are combat focused while others are whimsical and involve non-combat activities such as catching baby Tauntauns or herding Banthas.

Dynamic Encounters last for either 30 minutes or 45 minutes, while Hidden Chain Invasions spawn for 1 hour. New Dynamic Encounters spawn every 15-30 minutes, and Dynamic Encounters repeat again every 2 hours.

There are three types of Dynamic Encounters:

Easy – Dynamic Encounters that are very easy or have no combat.
Group Shared: All players in your Group share Quest progress for NPC Kills during the Dynamic Encounter. Non-combat progress such as item looting is not shared.

Hard – Dynamic Encounters that either have several steps or a Boss fight.
Encounter Shared: All players in the area share Quest progress for NPC Kills during the Dynamic Encounter. Non-combat progress such as item looting is not shared.

Hidden Chain Invasion – A challenging Dynamic Encounter that last for an hour, can be completed Solo with a Healer Companion.
Encounter Shared: All players in the area share Quest progress for NPC Kills during the Hidden Chain Invasion. Non-combat progress such as item looting is not shared.

For this guide, I have also broken down Dynamic Encounters into 3 different time-lengths:

Fast – Dynamic Encounters that under 2 minutes.

Medium – Dynamic Encounters that take between 2-5 minutes.

Slow – Dynamic Encounters that take 5 or more minutes to complete.

Hidden Chain Invasion

Hidden Chain Invasions are a rare Dynamic Encounter that only appear once every two hours.
The Hidden Chain Invasion Dynamic Encounter has the longest timer of any Dynamic Encounter, lasting for One Hour. You can find where the Hidden Chain Invasion is by looking for the large Invasion marker on your Map and travelling to the location.

The Hidden Chain Invasion is not hard, it takes about 5-10 minutes to complete the encounter as a Solo Player with a Healing companion.

There are NO Hidden Chain Invasion Dynamic Encounters on Korriban in 7.7

Rewards: Killing the Hidden Chain Lieutenant has a small chance to reward you with a random Hidden Chain Mandalorian Armor Set piece.

Korriban

Battle-Scarred Tuk’ata

This Dynamic Encounter can only be played by Imperial Players.

Tempered by age and battles for dominance, this Tuk’ata poses a threat to research efforts in the area. Destroy it!
Length: 2-3 minutes, less with companion
Progress Type: Group Shared
• Defeat the Battle-Scarred Tuk’ata
Hint: Bring a Companion in Heal-mode if you are a low level character.

Agitated K’lor’slug

This Dynamic Encounter can only be played by Imperial Players.

Seismic disturbances caused by excavation equipment have riled this horrible k’lor’slug into mindless aggression!
Length: 2-3 minutes, less with companion
Progress Type: Group Shared
• Defeat the Agitated K’lor’slug
Hint: Bring a Companion in Heal-mode if you are a low level character.
You can reach the K’lor’slug by walking around the path from the Sith Academy.

Unhinged Commander

This Dynamic Encounter can only be played by Imperial Players.

This trooper has been driven mad by Dark Side energy. Prove your strength by laying him to rest.
Length: 2-3 minutes, less with companion
Progress Type: Group Shared
• Defeat the Unhinged Commander
Hint: Bring a Companion in Heal-mode if you are a low level character.
You can find the Commander at the entrance of the Tomb of Marka Ragnos in the Lower Wilds.

Slow, Insidious Killer

This Dynamic Encounter can only be played by Imperial Players.

Three Prosumptous acolytes are challenging the authority of the Sith Academy. They must be put in their place.
Length: 2-4 minutes
Progress Type: Encounter Shared

• Defeat the Arrogant Acolyte
• Defeat the Pompous Acolyte
• Defeat the Overconfident Acolyte

Hint: Two acolytes can be found at the bottom of the staircase to the Sith Academy, the Overconfident Acolyte can be found at the top of the staircase.

Never a K’lor’ing Day

This Dynamic Encounter can only be played by Imperial Players.

Ongoing excavations have disturbed a cluster of k’lor’slugs. Drive the fouls beasts away!
Length: 3-4 minutes
Progress Type: Encounter Shared

Hint: The Dynamic Encounter takes place outside the area where you create a new Sith character. Be careful for level 1 players.

Part One:
• Defeat 33 K’lor’slug Foragers and Swarmers.

Part Two:
• Defeat the 3 Agitated K’lor’slug Broodmothers.
Hint: You must kill each of the highlighted K’lor’slug Broodmothers on the map, you cannot kill the same one 3 times.

The Perfect Opportunity

This Dynamic Encounter can only be played by Imperial Players.

The possessed troopers present an exciting opportunity for an enterprising Sith researcher, if someone is willing to lend a hand.
Length: 3-4 minutes
Progress Type: Group Shared

Hint: The Dynamic Encounter takes place outside the Tomb of Marka Ragnos at the Lower Wilds, the closest Quick Travel / Taxi point is the Wilds Laboratory.

Part One:
• Gather Experimental Instruments from the Blue crate.

Part Two:
• Use the Collect Data button on your Temporary Hotbar to scan 5 Berserk Trooper NPCs.
Hint: Make sure you are targeting a Berserk Trooper NPC before you use the Collect Data button.

Part Three: Test on Troopers using the icons on your Temporary Hotbar.
• Test Proprioception Inhibitor x2 on Berserk Troopers.
• Test Neuropathic Amplifier x2 on Berserk Troopers.
• Test Compassion Dampener x2 on Berserk Troopers.
Hint: Make sure you are targeting a Berserk Trooper NPC before you use any of the Buffs.

Achievements:
Willing Participant – Use each of the the Experimental Stim Buffs on yourself during the Dynamic Encounter.
Solution: Target yourself after you start testing the stims on Berserk Troopers, wait for the buff to expire and repeat.

Part Four: Turn in the Data at the Computer.
Hint: The computer is located near the Blue crate where you first looted the Data.

Incubation Miscalculation

This Dynamic Encounter can only be played by Imperial Players.

Wrangle K’lor’slug Neonates that have broken loose inside the Sith Academy on Korriban.
Length: 3-4 minutes
Progress Type: Group Shared
Hint: This Dynamic Encounter has no mandatory combat.

Part One:
• Loot a Slug Wrangler from the Blue crate at the back of the Sith Academy.

Part Two: Use the Wrangle ability on your Hotbar while targeting a Klorslug to wrangle them, or kill them.
• Kill or Wrangle 20 K’lor’slug Neonates.

Achievements:
Horrible Little Guys – Wrangle each of the named K’lor’slugs during the Dynamic Encounter.
Wrangle Fronk 1 time – Located in the Jail on the ground floor
Wrangle Snippy 1 time – Located on the North-East most acolyte room on the top floor
Wrangle Toothface 2 times – Located in the Side Room of the Library to the north of Skill Trainer Lord Samus on the top floor

Achievements

There are over a hundred Achievements related to Dynamic Encounters in Star Wars the Old Republic.
Every single Dynamic Encounter for both factions has its own achievement. There are also achievements related to completing every single Republic, Imperial and Pirate attack as well as Hidden Chain Invasion for both factions.

Korriban has achievements for completing 5, 15, and 30 Dynamic Encounters, as well as a mastery Achievement for completing every single Dynamic Encounter achievement on Korriban.
Completing every single Korriban Dynamic Encounter rewards the special Zylthan Highland Brig Mount that also allows your Minipet to ride with you.

There is also a small chance that killing K’lor’slug Broodmothers or Swarmers during the Never a K’loring Day Dynamic Encounter will reward you with the rare Killik Stalker Larva Mini-Pet.

The Killik Stalker Larva is a rare Minipet reward for Imperial Players from the Dynamic Encounter on Korriban:
• Never a K’lor’ing Day – Rare Drops from the Klorslug Mothers and Swarmers

Upon killing the Klorslug Mothers during the Dynamic Encounter, there is a small chance that you may recieve a Killik Stalker Larva minipet as a Quest reward.
