What is the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event?
The Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event or ‘Soovada’ is a Seasonal event in Star Wars the Old Republic. The Nightlife Event is a social event centered around spending credits to spin slot machines in exchange for unique and rare cosmetic rewards and achievements.
The Nightlife Event mainly takes place at the Casino on Nar Shaddaa and is an easy non-combat event and only involves clicking machines.
How to Start the Nightlife Event
To start the Nightlife event in SWTOR, you can either start the Tutorial Mission on Fleet (requires a character ship/level 10+) or travel directly to the Casino on Nar Shaddaa.
You do not need to start the Nightlife tutorial Mission on Fleet, it only aims to show you how to get to the event location and gives you a few free Casino Chips to get started.
Note: To play the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event, your character will need to be able to travel to Nar Shaddaa (requires player ship) or own a VIP Wristband to use the Slot Machines at the VIP Lounge on the Fleet.

To begin the Introductory Nightlife Event quest, click on the News Terminal at the central ring of the Fleet. It will open a menu that starts a Quest to travel to the Club Vertica Casino (Republic) or Star Cluster Casino (Imperial) on Nar Shaddaa.

You must complete the entire Mission to unlock some free Chips to spend at the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event. You do not need to start or complete the Quest in order to play the Nightlife Event. You can go directly to the Casino on Nar Shaddaa or the VIP Lounge on Fleet and purchase tokens from Vendors to start spinning slot machines.
How to Play
The Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event can be played by spinning Slot Machines at any of the following Locations: Club Vertica or Star Cluster Casino on Nar Shaddaa, VIP Lounge on Fleet or the Bazaar at Three Points on Mek-Sha.
Note: The Bazaar at Three Points on Mek-Sha does not have any Emperor’s Grace slot machines.

Once you arrive at a Nightlife Event location, click on any Hospitality Droid and you can buy Casino Chips to spend on the Slot Machines.
Each time you click a Slot Machine you lose 1 token, so be careful as the event can cost a lot of credits if you plan to spend a lot of time.
If you are looking for a variety of ways to earn credits to spend at the Nightlife Event, and earn free Casino Chips in the process, please consider checking out my Credit Making guide for 2025 which has over a dozen ways for F2P and Subscribed players to earn millions of credits an hour!
Casino Chips
You can see how many Nightlife Casino Chips you have in the Currency Tab of your character’s Inventory. Nightlife Event Casino Chips are a ‘Bound’ currency, this means that Casino Chips you buy or earn on one character cannot be used on another.
Smugglers, Kingpins and Emperor’s Casino Chips (not Max Bet) can be found as Loot in the open world or from Operations, Uprising and Flashpoint bosses. Completing a Warzone Match (Arenas do not count) will also give you a few random Casino Chips.

There are 6 different Casino Chips that you can purchase from Hospitality Vendors:
Smuggler’s Casino Chip – Costs 5,000 Credits
Kingpin’s Casino Chip – Costs 100,000 Credits
Emperor’s Casino Chip – Costs 7,500,000 Credits
Max Bet Chips can only be purchased from the Hospitality Vendors at the VIP Lounge of the Fleet:
Max Bet Emperor’s Casino Chip – Costs 150,000,000 Credits or 20 Emperor’s Casino Chips
Max Bet Kingpin’s Casino Chip – Costs 2,000,000 Credits or 20 Kinpin’s Casino Chips
Max Bet Smuggler’s Casino Chip – Costs 100,000 Credits or 20 Smuggler’s Casino Chips
While regular Casino Chips are much cheaper, Max Bet Chips have a much higher chance to win any kind of prize in exchange for more credits at the VIP Lounge on the Fleet.
To obtain Nightlife Event Rewards it does not matter whether you use a regular Casino Chip or a Max Bet Casino Chip, as the prizes from both Slot Machines are the same. You are paying a higher cost at the Max Bet machine for the convenience of winning more often.
2025 Nightlife Event Changes
2025 saw the inclusion of several major changes to the Nightlife Event. Im not sure if this is to comply with real world anti-gambling/addiction laws or the developers are opening up transparency on drop rates in the game.
All Chips are now Legacy Currency
- As you login to your character you character currency will be converted to legacy currency to be accessible on all characters.
- This can cause the currency to go over the cap – this will prevent you from gaining more chips until you spend them so if you go over the cap remember you can turn them into Max Bet Chips at the Hospitality Vendors in the VIP area of the Fleet!
- Most Chip Currency limits have also been increased! All normal chips are now capped at 1,000,000 and all Max Bet chips are capped at 100,000.
Drop Rates for Emperor’s Casino Chip has been increased in Master Flashpoints, Veteran Operations, and Master Operations!
You can not lose on Emperor’s Grace and Emperor’s Grace Max Bet Machines.
Lucky and Good Karma buffs:
- Now both are 10 minutes long so you no longer need to get them in a specific order to maximize effectiveness on the Emperor’s Grace machines.
- Only removed by the timer running out or from a successful Jackpot! Jackpots on Smuggler’s Luck do not remove Lucky or Good Karma.
- The effect cannot be reapplied until the timer runs out or it is removed by a Jackpot, so if you lose it you’ll need to get it again.
Winning Chips:
- Like past iterations you can get your Chip back from the machine instead of winning.
- This no longer counts as a win.
- It does not play the win visual effects or grant achievement progress
- All machines have a chance of giving your Chip back now.
- It is possible to get the Chips from the next tier machine
- It is possible to get the Max Bet Chip for the current tier machine
- Max Bet machines can give Chips for the next tier Max Bet machine.
All Prices of Golden Certificate Event Vendor items have been increased!

Emperor’s Grace Machine
The Emperor’s Grace Slot Machine is the most valuable Slot Machine in the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event and has many rewards and prizes. While there are many prizes, you can also fail which makes purchasing Emperor’s Chips a risk as they are very expensive compared to Smuggler’s and Kingpin Chips.
An Emperor’s Casino Chip costs 7,500,000 credits.
A Max Bet Emperor’s Casino Chip costs 150,000,000 credits or 20 Emperor’s Casino Chips.
I suggest only spinning the Emperor’s Slot Machine if you are under the effects of either the Feeling Lucky or Good Karma Buff (or both)!

To spin the Emperor’s Grace slot machine, it consumes 1 Emperor’s Casino Chip.
When you spin the Emperor’s Grace slot machine there is huge chance of winning a physical prize, but you can still fail. If you win then you will win your Emperor’s Casino Chip back, there is also a large chance the machine will Jackpot and you will win a Prize!

Max Bet Slot Machines
The Max Bet Slot Machines are the most expensive Slot Machines in the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event. They can only be found on the VIP Lounge (upper floor) of the Cantina on the Fleet. This means you require a VIP Wristband to access the Max Bet slot machines.
A VIP Wristband can be purchased from the Cantina Vendors on Fleet for 1,000,000 credits per character.

To spin the Max Bet slot machines, you need to use Max Bet Casino Chips, which can only be purchased from Vendors in the VIP Lounge on Fleet. They give all the same rewards as the standard slot machines, there are no special Max Bet prizes.
The difference between a Max Bet and standard Slot Machine is that a Max Bet machine cannot lose. Max Bet slot machines only give prizes, even if it just a token back or 1 Golden Certificate, so it is up to you whether you choose to buy regular casino chips or Max Bet casino chips.
A Max Bet Smuggler’s Casino Chip costs 100,000 credits or 20 Smuggler’s Casino Chips.
A Max Bet Kingpin’s Casino Chip costs 2,000,000 credits or 20 Kingpin’s Casino Chips.
A Max Bet Emperor’s Casino Chip costs 150,000,000 credits or 20 Emperor’s Casino Chips.
Strategy Guide
There are many different strategies you can use to increase your odds of winning or earn Casino Chips for free.

How to Farm Casino Chips
Casino Chips can drop from completing the following activities:
Killing Mobs in the Open World
Flashpoint Bosses
Uprising final Boss
Operations Bosses
Completing a Warzone
Killing Bosses in Master Mode Flashpoints has a higher chance of giving Kingpin or Emperor Chips over Veteran or Story Mode.
Killing Bosses in Veteran (Hardmode) Operations has a higher chance of giving Kingpin or Emperor Chips over Story Mode Operations.
Killing Bosses in Master Mode (Nightmare) Operations nearly always gives multiple Emperor Chips per boss.
Group Player/CoOp Flashpoint Strategy: It seems that the more players you have in a group, the higher your chances are of getting Emperor’s Chips are when you play Flashpoints in any difficulty.
To make the most out of Emperor’s Chips drops, I suggest getting into a group of 2-4 players all using Stealth Classes and playing any fast [Story] Flashpoint that gives the God Robot to take care of all healing and tanking for you.
Each player appears to get at least 1-2 Emperor’s Chips per flashpoint.
Republic players should play Taral V, Korriban Incursion or Blood Hunt.
Imperial players should play Boarding Party, Korriban Incursion, Blood Hunt or Objective Meridian (Meridian has no God Robot, use Heal Companion or Operative player).
If you are a skilled group of players (with one healer) and all using stealth, consider Master Mode Hammer Station instead as you are guaranteed closer to 2-5 Emperor’s Chips per person, per run.
Solo Player Open World Strategy: Killing enemies in the Open World has a rare chance of dropping Emperor’s Chips as loot.
If you want to effectively farm Emperor’s Chips, then I suggest killing mobs on low level planets such as gangsters on Coruscant, slaves on Dromund Kaas, Bugtown on Balmorra (Imperial) or rakghouls on Taris (Republic).
Any location that has a LOT of mobs that are easy to kill in large groups is your best chance. Once you stop getting any loot at all from a group of mobs you need to try a different planet or location. Using this method you can earn around 20-30 Emperor’s Casino Chips per hour.
Feeling Lucky and Good Karma Buffs
There are two buffs you can earn that increase your chances at winning prizes at the Kingpin and Emperor’s Slot machine.
The Feeling Lucky buff lasts for 10 minutes and increases your chances of winning a prize from the Kingpin or Emperor’s Slot machine. It can be gained randomly when spinning a Smuggler’s Slot machine OR by drinking at any of the cantina bar decorations at the Casino on Nar Shaddaa.
Effects of the Feeling Lucky buff stack with Good Karma.
The Good Karma buff lasts for 10 minutes and increases your chances of winning a prize from the Emperor’s Slot machine. It can be gained randomly when spinning a Kingpin’s Slot machine OR by completing the Counterfeit Tokens: Mek-Sha mission and choosing to capture or kill the Red Twilek.
Emperor’s Grace Jackpot
If you want to win Jackpot prizes from the Emperor’s Grace slot machine, I suggest only using regular Emperor’s Grace casino chips and avoiding Max Bet chips completely!
Save up around 15 or more Emperor’s Casino chips (I suggest stockpiling up to 100) and around 30 Smuggler’s Chips and 30 Kingpin Chips.
Start by spinning the Kingpin Chips until you get the Good Karma Buff (lasts 10 minutes).
You then need to Spin the Smuggler’s Luck slot machines until you have the Feeling Lucky buff.
+
Now that you have both the Good Karma and Feeling Lucky buff your chances of winning prizes from the Emperor’s Machine are 100%. Spin until you have used up all your Emperor’s Chips or the Feeling Lucky buff runs out.
If the Feeling Lucky buff runs out but you still have at least 3 minutes on your Good Karma buff, go back and spin Smuggler’s slots until you get the Feeling Lucky buff and keep trying.
Farming Kingpin Rewards
If you are specifically looking for Prizes and Rewards from the Kingpin Slot Machines, using Max Bet tokens is the best way to earn rewards such as the Event Companions, Mounts and High Roller sets. However the most important step you should know is that you should never purchase Max Bet Kingpin Chips, you can earn them for free by spinning Max Bet Smuggler’s Machines which cost the same credit price as Kingpin Chips for the regular Kingpin Machine!
This method will have you earning Prizes and Rewards at an incredibly fast and broken pace, however it does require both Subscription and a VIP Wristband to access the VIP Area on Fleet.
To start, you are going to have to farm 10 million credits, the easiest way to do this is to sell either an OEM or RPM on the GTN by gathering Tech Fragments from playing Storymode Operations.
I suggest briefly reviewing my guide to Making Credits in 2025 which has over a dozen easy methods F2P and Subscribers can use to make millions of credits an hour!
Once you have your 10 million Credits, you want to head to the VIP area on Fleet, as this is the only place that Max Bet nightlife slot machines can be played.
Spend roughly 9.9 million credits on Max Bet Smugglers Chips and save 100k credits, which should get you around 99 tokens. Once you have purchased all the Max Bet chips you can afford, spin them all at the Max Bet Smugglers machines until you have run out of Chips .
There is a small chance each time you spin a Max Bet Smugglers Chips that you will be granted a random amount of standard Kingpin’s Chips between 1-10 per spin. This means that you are saving hundreds of thousands of credits each time you use a Max Bet Smugglers machine to earn Kingpin Chips instead of purchasing Kingpin Chips directly at the event.
Once you have spun all of your Max Bet Smugglers Chips, return to the VIP Nightlife Vendor at the Fleet and convert all of your standard Kingpin Chips to Max Bet Kingpin Chips, you should easily be able to purchase around 10-15 or more if you are lucky.
Now with your last remaining 100k credits, purchase regular Smugglers Chips, if you already have 50 or more Smuggler’s Chips in your inventory, you can skip this step.
Spin the standard Smuggler’s Luck Machine until you have the Feeling Lucky Buff!
Once you have the Feeling Lucky Buff, run over to the Max Bet Kingpin Machines and spin as many as you can until you get a Jackpot that removes the Feeling Lucky buff.
Return to the Smuggler’s Luck machine and continue spinning until you get the Feeling Lucky buff, then return to the Max Bet Kingpin Machines and spin until you get another Jackpot.
Do this over and over until you run out of Max Bet Kingpin Chips.
There is also a very small chance when spinning Max Bet Kingpin machines that you will either recieve 1-5 Emperor’s Chips or even a Max Bet Emperor’s Chip which guarantees 1 Jackpot Reward.
Repeating this method will easily let you stack up dozens of Kingpin Slot Machine Rewards at 1/20th the price of buying Chips, saving you millions of credits for the same Rewards.
