The ‘Obsidian’ themed Cartel Market items in SWTOR are heavily trooper based on a mythical ‘Obsidian Squad’ we have yet to see. However one interesting detail about the weapons seen in the ‘Obsidian’ theme, namely the DA-AC1 Assault Cannon, is that they are based on the gunner turret seen briefly in A New Hope for less than 10 seconds total in the movie.

The weapon DA-AC1 Assault Cannon, and the Obsidian Squad Recon Walker both feature the gunner turret style weapon seen in A New Hope, which is called the Super Blaster 920 Laser Cannon in lore.
