Data Fragments are a special currency that are needed to complete levels in the Basilisk Prototype Venture from level 5 and onwards. In order to find Data Fragments, you must be using B3-S1 as your active companion and be on Level 5 or above in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

As Data Fragments are both area specific and rare to loot, this guide will help you speed up your Data Fragment collection to help you save as much time while using Bessi as possible.

Basilisk Data Fragments

Data Fragments are an inventory item that you must collect in order to progress Objectives during the Basilisk Prototype Venture from Level 5 until Level 10. Each level requires earning 10 Data Fragments in 3 specific daily area locations.
Once you have looted Data Fragments, you can sell, disintegrate or destroy them as they have no value in your inventory.

You can view your progress and track what Data Fragments you need to find in the Venture tab of your Legacy Window by clicking on the Fragments Found objectives and clicking the Tracker checkbox.

Basilisk Prototype Venture

In order to start the Basilisk Prototype Venture, you must Be an active Subscriber and have completed all 3 of Lane Vizla’s Missions on a level 80 character.
Lane Vizla’s missions are not tied to the Legacy of the Sith expansion story anymore, as long as you are level 80 and can travel to Ruhnuk you can complete all 3 of Lane Vizla’s missions.

Once you have completed all 3 of Lane Vizla’s missions, open your Legacy Window (default: Y) and click on the Venture tab to grant yourself the Basilisk Prototype Venture and start the Quest.

Data Fragments Locations

There are 12 different locations in the Basilisk Prototype Venture where you will need to find Data Fragments. The Basilisk Prototype Venture level: 5, 6, 8 and 9 each require you to kill enemies in 3 different Daily Areas with Bessi spawned as your active companion in order to find Data Fragments as loot.

If you run out of time while using Bessi, you will have to respawn her in order to loot more Data Fragments, which can take a lot of time as Data Fragment drops are rare.

While looting Fragments can take a lot of time, I have noticed that specific kinds of enemies and bosses have a higher chance to drop Data Fragments, which can save a lot of time.

CZ-198 Data Fragments

CZ-198 Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on CZ-198 while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. CZ-198 Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 5 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

CZ-198 Data Fragments can most commonly be found from enemies in the Supply Yard – Railways on CZ-198.

Nearly all groups of mobs with both Champion or Elite difficulty Droids or Humans can drop CZ-198 Data Fragments.

Wandering enemies such as Czerka Observer Droids as well as Czerka Unit Captains and the Heroic Droid all drop CZ-198 Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

The Black Hole Data Fragments

The Black Hole Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found at The Black Hole while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. The Black Hole Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 5 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

The Black Hole Data Fragments can most commonly be found from enemies across the middle sections of The Black Hole.

Nearly all groups of mobs with both Champion or Elite difficulty Droids can drop CZ-198 Data Fragments.

Champion mobs such as Hypermatter Droids as well as Torvix Ambushers with Torvix War Droids all drop The Black Hole Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Iokath Data Fragments

Iokath Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Iokath while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Iokath Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 5 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Iokath Data Fragments can most commonly be found from Probe and Scour Swarm Droids near the laser wall sections outside both the Republic and Imperial bases of the Iokath Expanse.

Nearly all large groups of droid-style mobs (not human style droids) or both Champion or Elite difficulty Droids can drop Iokath Data Fragments.

Enemies such as Heavy or regular Scour Swarm Droids as well as Iokath Probes all drop Iokath Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Ruhnuk Data Fragments

Ruhnuk Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Ruhnuk while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Ruhnuk Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 6 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Ruhnuk Data Fragments can most commonly be found from Hidden Chain mobs near the Waterworks or Warehouses and tunnels inside Ruhnuk.

Nearly all groups of Champion or Elite difficulty Hidden Chain enemies can drop Ruhnuk Data Fragments. Beasts and Probe Droids do not drop Data Fragments as often.

Enemies such as Hidden Chain Ash’ad or Hidden Chain Beast Tamers with Tineback pets all drop Ruhnuk Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Oricon Data Fragments

Oricon Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Oricon while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Oricon Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 6 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Oricon Data Fragments can most commonly be found on Oricon where the Corrupted Beasts or the Crashed Escape Pods are located.

Nearly all groups of Creature, Beast or Droid enemies can drop Oricon Data Fragments. Dread Host troopers and Jedi do not drop Data Fragments as often.

Enemies such as Corrupted Beasts and any Champion or Elite Dread Guard Droids with Probes all drop Oricon Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Onderon Data Fragments

Onderon Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Onderon while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Onderon Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 6 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Onderon Data Fragments can most commonly be found at the North and South jungles of Onderon near the Ancient Sith Crypt, Lake Encampment and Crashed Ship.

Nearly all groups of Creature or Beast enemies can drop Onderon Data Fragments. Human enemies such as Troopers, Untamed or Mandalorians do not drop Data Fragments as often.

Beast enemies such as Pritarr and Grefna and any Champion or Elite groups of Orlax all drop Onderon Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Yavin IV Data Fragments

Yavin IV Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Yavin IV while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Yavin IV Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 8 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Yavin IV Data Fragments are most commonly found at the Revanite Training Grounds in the center of Yavin IV.

Nearly all groups of Droids or Revanite enemies can drop Oricon Data Fragments. Creatures, Beasts and Massassi do not drop Data Fragments as often.

Enemies such as Lance Squadron Walkers and any Champion or Elite Dread Revanite Loyalists with Combat Droids all drop Yavin IV Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Kessans Landing Data Fragments

Kessan’s Landing Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found at Kessan’s Landing while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Kessan’s Landing Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 8 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Kessan’s Landing Data Fragments can most commonly be found around the Hidden Chain camp at the South-East corner of the map, as well as the grounds surrounding FR3-D0M Worldboss area.

Nearly all groups of Droids or Separatist enemies can drop Onderon Data Fragments. Hidden Chain Captains as well as Creatures and Beasts do not drop Data Fragments as often.

Separatist Scout Droids and any Champion or Elite groups Separatist troopers and Trench Droids all drop Kessan’s Landing Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Ossus Data Fragments

Ossus Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Ossus while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Ossus Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 8 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Ossus Data Fragments can most commonly be found at the Dead Forest/Ancient Ruins as well as the Jedi Temple Ruins.

Nearly all groups of Droids or Champion and Elite difficulty enemies Jedi and Sith can drop Ossus Data Fragments. Geonosians and Republic and Imperial troopers do not often drop Ossus Data Fragments.

Tribis, groups of Scrambled Droids, Master Sentinels, Padawans and Sith Assassins all drop Ossus Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.

Makeb Data Fragments

Makeb Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Makeb while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Makeb Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 9 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

I have not currently located any enemies that drop Makeb Data Fragments at a higher rate then other enemies however Hutt Cartel enemies in Talaos City seem to drop them frequently.

Manaan Data Fragments

Manaan Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found on Manaan while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Manaan Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 9 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

I have not currently located any enemies that drop Manaan Data Fragments at a higher rate then other enemies however Isolationist Selkath and Isolationist Droids seem to drop them frequently.

Section X Data Fragments

Section X Data Fragments are a unique item that can only be found at Section X while you are using B3-S1 as your active companion. Section X Data Fragments are only available while you are Level 9 in the Basilisk Prototype Venture.

Section X Data Fragments can most commonly be found at the Prisoner and Dread Guard Camps in the South-East of Section X.
Imperial Players can also kill Republic Troopers and Jedi towards the East for Section X Data Fragments as well.

Nearly all groups of Dread Guards or Champion and Elite difficulty Jedi can drop Section X Data Fragments. Creatures and Droids do not often drop Section X Data Fragments.

Dread Guard Disciples and Lords as well as Jedi Special Operatives all drop Section X Data Fragments are a higher consistency then regular enemies.
