The Bounty Event can be quite fickle in SWTOR, as each of the Regular and Kingpin Bounties have lists of achievements relating to capture, kill and hunt them all. This quick tip will help you get the Bounty you need, especially as all planets have multiple RNG Bounties to hunt when you may only be looking for a certain one.
If you’re looking for a specific regular Bounty: Make note of what planet they appear on, once you have gathered the initial 4 information pieces speak with the Bounty Contact in the Cantina, once the cutscene has ended check which Bounty they have sent you after. If it is the wrong one you can open your Mission Log (L) and click the reset button. You’ll have to reobtain the 4 information pieces however after the cutscene at the Cantina you can be given a different Bounty.
Bounty List:
Aja Novar: Hutta, Ord Mantell, Nar Shaddaa, Alderaan, Voss.
D-3X: Hutta, Ord Mantell, Dromund Kaas, Coruscant, Alderaan, Voss.
Kar’wa: Hutta, Ord Mantell, Dromund Kaas, Coruscant, Tatooine, Voss.
Novane: Dromund Kaas, Coruscant, Nar Shaddaa, Tatooine, Alderaan.
Sogan Sur: Dromund Kaas, Coruscant, Tatooine, Alderaan, Voss.
T’rubba: Hutta, Ord Mantell, Nar Shaddaa, Voss.
Udo Ensh: Hutta, Ord Mantell, Nar Shaddaa, Tatooine.
Zinda Kent: Dromund Kaas, Coruscant, Nar Shaddaa, Tatooine, Alderaan.
If you’re having trouble using Carbonite/Taking Alive: If you often find yourself killing a Bounty before freezing them in Carbonite, in the worst case scenario you can open your Mission Log (L) and click the reset button, but you will have to redo the Bounty Quest over. However some other tips you can do to mitigate and Carbon Freeze the Bounty are as follows:
> Drag the “Carbonite Freeze” item from the Quest Tracker/Mission Inventory onto a Hotbar space, so that you can click it while attacking.
> Put your companion on Passive or stop your attacks around 10% HP or less, focus on clicking the Carbonite Freeze the second it becomes available.
I suggest when hunting Bounties, to go for the lowest level planet as the level sync makes it easier to defeat the enemy. You can reset the quest as needed after the Cantina Cutscene, there doesn’t appear to be any relation between what Bounty Contact NPC you meet in the Cantina and what Bounty you are told to hunt afterwards.
